Employees of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Berel" of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan have started conducting field research this year.
The field research is carried out as part of the scientific project IRN AP23486716 "Sign System and Tamgas of the Kazakhs of Altai", which is being implemented under the grant funding program of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2026.
In the second year of the three-year project, exploratory and research work was carried out in the Markakol and Kurchum districts.
As a result, the burial of Kuleke was discovered in the vicinity of the village of Zhideli.
The tombstone clearly displays the tamga of the Töre clan, known as "tarak" ("crest"). The research results have been published in the journal "Archaeology of Kazakhstan" (Q1), which is indexed in the Scopus database.
