A site belonging to the same cultural area, but located beyond the present-day administrative boundaries of the East Kazakhstan Region, was identified in the vicinity of the town of Zaisan. During survey work in the border area between the Tarbagatai and Zaisan districts, near the Sarybulak winter settlement, members of the expedition discovered a complex of petroglyph-tamgas dating to different cultural and historical periods.
The site is located approximately 3 km south of the town of Zaisan, on the southern slope of a medium-height mountain. Among the petroglyphs on the rock surface, two types of tamgas were recorded, executed by pecking or incision.
The first tamga resembles a horizontally oriented letter “Э” and is formed by closed curved lines. The second is a ladle-shaped sign consisting of a circle connected to a cross.
